“Setting.

Chronic cutaneous wounds may cause considerable pain, often affecting patient compliance with necessary treatment protocols.

Patients.

Two patients are presented who were unable to comply with compression therapy because of severe wound pain.

Intervention.

Adjunctive

pulsed radio frequency energy was administered for 30 minutes twice daily through an applicator pad placed directly on the dressing over the wound area.

Results.

Both patients reported immediate, marked pain reduction, allowing 4SC-202 order compression therapy. The ulcers healed completely within 3 weeks for patient 1 and 28 weeks for patient 2.

Conclusions.

Further investigation into the efficacy of pulsed radio frequency energy for the treatment of painful wounds is warranted.”
“Objective.

The objective of this study LXH254 molecular weight was to present a case of trigger

point injection-related pneumothorax treated by computed tomography (CT)-guided needle aspiration.

Design.

Case report.

Setting.

The study was set in a community hospital practice.

Patient.

The study consisted of a singlecase.

Intervention.

The intervention used for the study was CT-guided needle aspiration of the pneumothorax.

Results.

The result of the study was the successful evacuation of the pneumothorax and lung expansion.

Conclusion.

CT-guided needle aspiration is a viable management option for symptomatic patients with iatrogenic pneumothorax.”
“Objectives. 1) To replicate and extend previous research on the prevalence and characteristics of pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain, and 2) to examine the associations between pain intensity, pain interference, and pain coping strategies in a sample of women with pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain.

Design. Cross-sectional design.

Setting. 10058-F4 datasheet An academic public and urban medical center in Taiwan.

Patients. Pregnant women without gestational or psychiatric diseases in the 35th to 41st gestational week.

Interventions. N/A.

Outcome Measures. Questionnaires were used to collect data on demographics,

pain intensity, pain interference, and pain coping responses.

Results. Of 230 consecutive cases scheduled for an outpatient obstetrics-gynecology clinic appointment, 187 agreed to participate in this study. One hundred and forty (74.9%) of these reported pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain. Most participants with pain reported it as mild to moderate in severity and that the pain interfered with a number of daily activities. The coping responses used most often for pain management included rest (94.3%), task persistence (87.9%), and asking for assistance (87.1%).

Conclusion. The results confirmed that pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain is a common problem that interferes with important activities. Pregnant women use a number of coping strategies to manage lumbopelvic pain.
