10 caterpillars with a weight of 0.30-0.35 g were used for each group. Injection area was cleaned with water and a 10 μl Hamilton syringe was used to inject 10 μl of 3 × 106 CFU/ml of either F. novicida or F. CH5424802 solubility dmso tularensis LVS into the hemocoel of each caterpillar via the last left proleg and incubated at 37°C for 2 hours . Caterpillars were then injected with 10 μl BIRB 796 mw of either PBS, 25 μg/ml Az, or 20 μg/ml ciprofloxacin in the last right proleg. Control caterpillars were either not injected or injected with only PBS, azithromycin, or ciprofloxacin. Caterpillar groups were incubated at 37°C and scored daily for color
